Independence at Your Finger Tips. Enjoy a better life with more functional freedom.

The cutting edge SaeboGlove helps clients suffering from neurological and orthopedic injuries incorporate their hand functionally in therapy and at home. The proprietary tension system extends the clients fingers and thumb following grasping. The SaeboGlove is based on the latest advances in neurorehabilitation research documenting the brain’s ability to “re-program” itself through mass practice, task-oriented arm training.

The SaeboGlove is a lightweight, low profile, functional glove designed to assist thumb & finger function. It is attached to a spiral- designed forearm piece that secures the wrist in a functional position.

With correct customization, the SaeboGlove assists full joint motion to maximize functional performance.  Adjustable spring Tensioners are located at the IP joints of the fingers and thumb to assist with finger/thumb extension following a grasping motion. Therapists customize assistance from the SaeboGlove to allow an affected hand to perform functional movements. Individual Tensioners can be removed to further customize assistance based on the patient’s needs. Numerous sized Tensioners are included to accommodate various finger lengths.

  •  Silicone covered finger tips improve traction during grasping.A non-slip liner minimizes migration during exercises & functional hand movements.
  • The SaeboGlove includes some Lycra in its construction, to improve the fit.
  • The patient’s palm is exposed, designed to increase breathability & to make it easier to put on & take off. The lightweight SaeboGlove is comfortable to wear for extended periods.
  • The SaeboGlove liner can be removed & hand-washed. The support itself can be cleaned with alcohol wipes or an antibacterial spray (such as BioText).

Which patients can benefit from a SaeboGlove?

  1.  A patient needs some ability to flex & extend their fingers. In addition, electrical stim (NMES) can accompany a therapy session to increase muscle activity in patients with minimal wrist/finger extension.
  2. A patient can have slightly increased tone in their flexor muscles, but not hypertonicity.
  3. The patient cannot have existing contractures already limiting functional hand movements.
  4. The patient needs to be cognitively intact, to be able to cooperate with the exercises.

Typical Patients

Neurological injury – post-stroke, brain injury, a neurological disease

Orthopedic peripheral nerve injury – post-fracture, or tendon laceration or due to a compressive injury like thoracic outlet syndrome.
